Mickey Guyton will host PBS‘ “A Capital Fourth” Independence Day celebration to be held in Washington, D.C., on July 4.
Guyton will lead a patriotic evening of musical performances by top stars from pop, country, R&B, classical and Broadway featuring the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of premier pops conductor Jack Everly.
Guyton said she is very excited to be hosting “A Capitol Fourth” this year live from Washington, D.C.
“It’s an honor to be leading our nation’s 246th birthday,” added the four-time Grammy-nominated country music star.
Guyton played the national anthem at the Super Bowl earlier this year.
The 42nd edition of the United States’ national Independence Day celebration will be broadcast live on PBS from 8 to 9:30 p.m. ET.
The program will be broadcast via the American Forces Network to American troops who are serving abroad.
This year marks the return of “A Capital Fourth” to television for the first time since 2019.
