Lynyrd Skynyrd Cancel Shows After Guitarist Rickey Medlocke Tests Positive For Covid

Lynyrd Skynyrd canceled four upcoming shows after guitarist Rickey Medlocke tested positive for Covid-19.

The country rock band was set to co-headline the Pro Football Hall of Fame concert in Canton, Ohio, on Monday with Brad Paisley.

They also suspended their shows at the Jackson County Fair in Jackson, Michigan, on August 10; the August 13 concert in Atlanta, Georgia; and another in Cullman, Alabama. The Atlanta show has been rescheduled to October 23.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Lynyrd Skynyrd is unable to perform the next four shows in Canton, OH, Jackson, MI, Atlanta, GA and Cullman, AL. Longtime band member Rickey Medlocke has tested positive for COVID-19,” band manager Ross Schilling said in a statement.

He added, “Rickey is home resting and responding well to treatment. We will continue to update you on his condition.”

Lynyrd Skynyrd co-founder and guitarist Gary Rossington had undergone emergency heart surgery last month.
