Kelsea Ballerini has teamed up with Carly Pearce and Kelly Clarkson for a new collaborative track “You’re Drunk, Go Home,” a song from her latest album, Subject To Change.
The song, which was released on Friday (September 23), finds Ballerini moving away from her usual pop/country groves and leaning heavily into a ’90s traditional country beat and a rockabilly vibe with electric and steel guitars and hypnotic walk-down bass.
The song sees the singers taking turns telling an inebriated person to walk away as his intoxicated condition would not allow him to start up a conversation.
“You’re drunk, go home / If you’re trying to hook up / Gotta do it alone / The way you’re slurring and the way you stumble / Ain’t no way you’re gonna get my number / Hey, walk away, so me and my girls can do our thing / I ain’t looking for a one-night rodeo / You’re drunk, go home,” they sing in unison.
Ballerini first teased the epic collaboration on September 8, posting a video on Instagram.
“A sassbomb yeehaw collab moment?!? YOU’RE DRUNK, GO HOME with my sister Carly Pearce and hero sister, Kelly Clarkson. Available 9/23 can I get a yeeeeehaw?” Ballerini captioned the clip, which she also shared on her Twitter page.
