Dolly Parton has added three new Guinness World Records to the seven that she already earned.
During an exclusive presentation ceremony held in Nashville, Tennessee, Guinness World Records presented the country legend with three new record titles celebrating her remarkable career.
Parton set the record for the longest span of No. 1 hits on the U.S. Top Country Albums chart for a female artist. On May 14, 1977, New Harvest.First Gathering was the first of Parton’s eight No. 1s on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.
Her most recent chart-topper was A Holly Dolly Christmas on October 17, 2020, which gave her the longest time span between No. 1 hits of 43 years and 156 days.
Secondly, Parton broke the record for the most studio albums released by a female country singer. She has released 65 studio albums between 1967 (Hello, I’m Dolly) and 2022 (Run, Rose, Run).
Thirdly, Parton earned the most Top 10 entries on the U.S. Top Country Albums chart by a female artist. Diamonds & Rhinestones: The Greatest Hits Collection was her 48th Top 10 entry on Billboard‘s Top Country Albums chart.
After accepting the citations from Guinness World Records offcial adjudicator Michael Empric, Parton said, “I am humbled every time I receive a new Guinness World Record title.”
Empric added, “Celebrating the longevity and success of Dolly Parton’s remarkable career with three more Guinness World Records titles was incredible.”
