Chris Stapleton has postponed three live shows scheduled for this week after doctors advised him to continue giving rest to his vocal chords.
The country music star was set to perform Thursday at the Riverbend in Cincinnati, and on Friday and Saturday at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
The Nashville shows have been pushed back to December, while the Riverbend concert is being rescheduled to 2022. A new date will be announced as soon as possible, Stapleton wrote on Twitter.
In a letter addressed to his fans, the CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee said he will continue his vocal rest through the weekend in order to fully heal. He apologized for the inconvenience and thanked fans for their patience and understanding.
“Nothing is more personal to me than the experience of music. I’m eternally grateful for the privilege of sharing in that journey with all of you night after night. Thank you for your continued support and I hope to see you all very soon,” Stapleton added.
Stapleton, who has been suffering from laryngitis, last week rescheduled a show in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to get more time to recover.
