Blake Shelton shared a touching Instagram video on Monday (October 14) that documents his return to his alma mater, Ada High School in Ada, Oklahoma. Shelton returned to his old hometown high school to present the music department with thousands of dollars of new musical instruments and equipment, including one of his own personal guitars. Shelton partnered with the Music Will organization to make the generous donation that totalled over $5,000 in music gear for the students. “Music is so important and it’s really special getting to be part of this and help give the kids this opportunity,” wrote Shelton. He also shared with the students how important his uncle was in encouraging his love of music as a teenager. “Once I got a driver’s license, I would drive to their house almost every day and sit around for an hour with his acoustic guitar,” Shelton recalled. “And he taught me just the little bit that he knew.” (Taste of Country)
