Charley Crockett Surprise Releases New Song “Hey Mr. Nashville” Following First Grammy Nomination

On Friday (November 8), Charley Crockett’s $10 Cowboy received a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album. The prolific and hard-working Crockett didn’t rest on those laurels, instead the country star surprise released a fiery new song, “Hey Mr. Nashville,” on Wednesday (November 13). Crockett announced the arrival of his new tune with an Instagram post that features the cover art for the single, capturing the singer cutting into a steak in a honkytonk with an armadillo resting on his table. A press release for Crockett’s new track reads, “‘Hey Mr. Nashville’ takes shady music industry hucksters to task, and the rousing gospel breakdown that closes the track finds Crockett looking for an ‘AMEN!'” Regarding his Grammy nom, Crockett wrote on Instagram, “ I’m not here for awards, but it does feel good to know folks are taking notice. More importantly I’m happy to see all the people who help me do what I do best recognized.” (Holler)
