Billy Strings Offers Refunds After Missing Renewal Fest For Birth Of His Son

On Tuesday (October 1), Billy Strings announced on Instagram that he will offer refunds to fans after missing his headlining sets at Colorado’s Renewal Fest over the weekend. Strings left the festival in order to be with his wife Ally Apostol as she went into labor with their first child, with the couple eventually welcoming their baby boy on Sunday morning. Strings was originally scheduled to perform four total sets at Renewal, with two shows planned on both Friday and Saturday, but his band took his place the first night, and Molly Tuttle, Jerry Douglas, Jarrod Walker performed as the “Renewal Family Band” on Saturday. Strings was hoping the baby would arrive on Sunday, but when his wife’s water broke on Friday, he borrowed Ringo Starr’s private plane to be with her back in Michigan. Strings made another Instagram post on Monday announcing the birth of his son, captioning a tender photo of the musician with his newborn baby, “He’s here! Mommy and baby are both doing great ❤️ I’m a dad.” (Rolling Stone)
