CMT Reveals Lineup For ‘Next Women Of Country’ In July

CMT recently revealed the lineup of artists set to perform at the Next Women of Country showcase in Nashville’s City Winery on July 18.

Georgia Webster, Kasey Tyndall, MacKenzie Porter, MaRynn Taylor, Megan Moroney, O.N.E The Duo, Priscilla Block and Tiera Kennedy will take the stage for the 10th-anniversary celebration beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Leslie Fram, S.V.P. of Music & Talent, CMT, will co-host the show with pop singer-songwriter-guitarist Lindsay Ell.

“We started (NWOC) 10 years ago because we started seeing a lack of female representation (in country music),” said Fram. “We’re like, ‘How can we use our platform?’ We started in 2013, and then two years later, we started a tour.”

“Outside of more women getting signed to record labels and publishing deals, it’s about women supporting women,” she added. “It used to be thought there’s only one slot, and we proved that’s not right because of how (female artists) support each other.”

Sixteen new artists were named to the “CMT Next Women of Country” franchise in January. More Next Women of Country events will follow in 2023.
